June Wrap Up

DSC_05912

It’s the end of June? Where is May again? Why is everything going by so fast? May seriously feels like yesterday.

I’m doing this new thing called: failing my reading responsibilities. In return, I do so much other things I had never imagined doing. If you’ve read my #AmCurrently, you know I had to go away. I had a trial week at a hotel to see if I liked the job. To be honest, everyone had one and I did not. I got hired trough an agency, so the trial week was not there, but still. I got a housekeeping job. Let me tell you this, I have respect for people doing that. It is physically very hard work. I couldn’t keep up and that’s why I went home again. Even though I was really bummed, I have to remember that I did it. I truly did it! I went there and did it. Last year that wasn’t even imaginable. So, I’m quite proud. It didn’t go as planned, but still. I faced my fears and got so much more in return. That’s what I wanted.

Alright, let’s dive into the books I’ve read!

Magic Bitter, Magic Sweet | Charlie N. Holmberg | 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Such a magical story. I got this via NetGalley and am grateful for it. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but ended up loving in anyway. To be honest, I’ve never read anything like it. It was a wonderful journey.

Beautiful Creatures | Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl | 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I joined the fandom 5 years late, but hey, it’s still worth it. I remember watching the movie three years ago and had absolutely no idea what it was about. Seriously. Now, three years later, I finally read the book and it made so much sense! Loved the book.

Beautiful Darkness | Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl | 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Lena wasn’t much around in this one and I missed her. Many say she was being whiny and annoying, but I understood why. After the events of Beautiful Darkness I was eager to start Beautiful Chaos.

In conclusion

Not a great reading month, but it was a great month for facing fears and doing stuff. I went places. I met people. These things give you so much back in return. I’m so glad I did it and even though I went home, I’m still quite proud. The reading challenge will still be there, but I’ll get to it when I feel like it. Right now I have a huge reading slump, but I’ll survive. I’m just gonna go stare at my book until it’ll open itself. 😉

How was June for you? Have you done anything crazy this month? Have you outdone yourself? Were there good books involved?
