Summer Reads

Hello everyone!

Since I am going on a vacation for 2,5 week, I wanted to share my Summer Reads with you. I probably won’t post here until I’m back, which will be around August 5. I just didn’t have the time to write some posts ahead. I’ll try to keep my Bookstagram alive and you can always find me on Twitter. So, prepare for a bunch of reviews when I come back.

Alright, let’s dive into my book bag! I will also take a bunch of e-books with me, just in case.

I’m taking with me:

I hope you have a wonderful summer and I’ll be back soon!

What are you planning on reading this summer? Are you going to do anything exciting?

Now Ethan must find a way to return to Lena – and Gatlin – as she vows to do whatever it takes to get him back. Even if it means trusting old enemies or risking their loved ones’ lives.

Can Ethan and Lena rewrite their fate and their spellbinding love story in this stunning finale to the Beautiful Creatures series?

Review: Beautiful Chaos by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

 Beautiful Chaos (Chaos, Dutch version)
Authors: Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy
Format: Paperback, 496 pages
Publisher: The House of Books
Release Date: April 9th, 2013

Goodreads Summary:

Ethan Wate thought he was getting used to the strange, impossible events happening in Gatlin, his small Southern town. But now that Ethan and Lena have returned home, strange andimpossible have taken on new meanings. Swarms of locusts, record-breaking heat, and devastating storms ravage Gatlin as Ethan and Lena struggle to understand the impact of Lena’s Claiming. Even Lena’s family of powerful Supernaturals is affected – and their abilities begin to dangerously misfire. As time passes, one question becomes clear: What — or who — will need to be sacrificed to save Gatlin?

For Ethan, the chaos is a frightening but welcome distraction. He’s being haunted in his dreams again, but this time it isn’t by Lena – and whatever is haunting him is following him out of his dreams and into his everyday life. Even worse, Ethan is gradually losing pieces of himself — forgetting names, phone numbers, even memories. He doesn’t know why, and most days he’s too afraid to ask.

Sometimes there isn’t just one answer or one choice. Sometimes there’s no going back. And this time there won’t be a happy ending.

Stacking the shelves: in which I finally got my hands on a box set!

Hello everyone!

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you probably already saw that I finally got my hands on the Mortal Instruments boxset! Yes, it’s not a dream. I was finally able to find the box set online and couldn’t help but squeal when it finally came. Funnily enough, I still had to wait a few days, because I wasn’t home.

Stacking The Shelves is a book blogging meme where I show you what books, e-books, and other bookish things I recently acquired. This one was due on June 27. 😉

Aren’t they wonderful? I’m so happy and will be reading them this month. Probably on vacation.

What did you add to your shelves this week? 🙂

Books I’ve enjoyed but other people haven’t even read or don’t know they exist

As I’m scrolling through my read list on Goodreads, I can’t help but wonder: why are the ratings so low?! Why haven’t people read these books?

Today on this rainy Tuesday I am here with ten books I’ve enjoyed but are under 20000 (2000 for today’s prompt, but I haven’t read enough underrated books) ratings on Goodreads.  (Lol, but seriously, there are a lot of books I’ve had to read for my Dutch and German class and I truly understand why the ratings are low)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish where we get a new topic for a top 10 list.

July TBR

July means going to France for our yearly vacation. It also means getting to read more! I mainly just spend my days reading by the river or pool or our caravan. It’s so relaxing.

My July TBR:

Beautiful Chaos by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare
City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

I hope I’ll get to the end or at least near the end. We’ll see how everything works out. 😉

What’s on your TBR this month? Do I need to add any books? Any recommendations?
